This weekend we are excited to bring back our traditional Tour de Meggett (aka Camel Ride) on Monday May 30th at 8am. The ride leaves at 8am from Ravenel Train Station and there are both road and gravel options. The road ride will have multiple pace options to suit all and the gravel ride pace will be adjusted to fit those who arrive. Ride leaders are Bruce Snyder and Stewart McKeever. This ride is not SAG supported.
The road ride is 32 miles and the route is here https://ridewithgps.com/routes/35849960?privacy_code=MFnFqDQg8U0B20nX.
The gravel ride is 27 miles (5 pure dirt) and the route is here:
5781 S Carolina 165, Ravenel, SC 29470
Take US Highway 17 South to Ravenel (14.5 miles from I-526/US 17 S).
Turn LEFT on Highway 165 at the traffic light.
Drive 1 mile and park at the old Ravenel train depot (5781 S Carolina 165, Ravenel, SC 29470). If you cross the railroad tracks, you have gone too far.
Note: Highway 165 crosses US 17 South at the only traffic light in Ravenel. You will see a BP Station and Hardees on the corners.
And YES our normal Saturday 8am ride from Gold's Gym on Folly Rd and our Sunday 8am ride from Mt Pleasant's Towne Centre are rolling this weekend.
